Day 14
What don't you understand about the Olympic track?

How are you going to have a 400m straightaway that is conducive to spectating?

Could be like a golf course. The stands can surround the last 100 metres

So...eliminate 40% (minimum) of the stands.

And how is that in any way like a Golf course?

The 18th hole, majority of seats are at the green.

Right?

Right?

People are watching all over the course.

Please, stop!

Yes I know that, but the grandstands are at the 18th Green. I'm not an idiot.

Tell your posts and ideas.

There just doesn't seem to be a way to think this is an intelligible idea.

I'm not sure you can convince people of that last part.

Because that involves abolishing the oval track that has been the standard/universal track they've been using forever?

Reworking stadiums, every track at every high school, college/university etc etc etc.

To avoid the occasional lane violation...

That seem logical to you?

Not to mention stadiums would have to be infinitely larger. Where do you draw the line? Do you make the track long enough for the 400? 800? 5000?
We live to survive our paradoxes

I know I can

Building stadiums is already a very expensive proposition. I think its pretty cool how they have events on the oval track, and other events going on simultaneously inside the oval (high jump, pole vault, etc). One standard size venue suits all the track and field events very efficiently. There's no need to pour millions more into constructing a 400m event venue because someone steps on the oval curve line every now and then
