Ah nice. So there's no need for that imgleft/imgright thing anymore with the new post editor.

If you're going to write a post in a word processor and then paste here I would suggest doing it in a simple text editor that doesn't add formatting.

Ok, what am I missing?

I inserted a pic and tried to put text beside it - text went to bottom of pic - my #1 example in the last post.

To put the pic on the right i had to type in [imgright] my pic url [/img right] which worked, but putting text beside it, which would work in your old code, would cause the text to go down then across, as I was trying to get it to do in my example #2.

Yes, plain text is just wonderful, but in my example, because I am a lazy 2 finger and thumb typist, I typed wordwrap (ret) 3 times, copied then tried to PASTE it down the page. It changed the font and added a space after the first wrap.

?????????????     Confused ?????????????

I typed all this in your editor. I just did a preview and an extra space was added between the last 2 paragraphs. fixed that and preview - font changed in 2nd para.

I will stop pressing buttons and post now.

Do the imgright or imgleft tag and then start typing. It should show up like it has here so the code still works on the new site (disregard my last post).

I don't understand what you were trying to do when you got the font issues. What do you mean 'typed wordwrap'?

Thanks Shady, but if you had added more text it should finish under the picture, which is why I kept talking wordwrap.

But in trying to demo this I type the word "wrap" 3 times followed by a return.

Then I tried to copy the 3 lines and paste them down the page until they were under the pic.

On the first paste, a line was added, and the font went small.

I was not pasting from another source, this was in your editor.

when I tried preview a line was added.

I fixed it and previewed - the font changed in para 2.

I stopped then and posted without fixing all my errors. Clearer?

Let me try a wrap -

a whole bunch of text -

It's all too quiet on the Flames home front. No, not about trades, or farm disposal, or the bets on when Jonesy goes down again. It's Satchel Handbag. He hasn't been heard around the Flames offices since November First, 2014. And even then it was only the chanting of “bring back Sven” when Coaching and Management met that was heard in the heating system. Some of the office staff said they actually have started to miss it.

But that's it. Nothing since then. Not a peep, a rumour, nada. Dome Head of Security Richard Whittledon, who is the longest serving HoS in several years at 4 months, said the sounds just stopped. He speculated that it had something to do with the many recalls from the minor team. Sharp guy, that Dick.

In a strange but perhaps related coincidence, an antique Flame thrower that had disappeared several years ago from a display at Mewata Armories was returned late one night around the same time. It was fully functional and loaded with fuel. There was a note on it that simply said “guess I didnt need it.”.

It disappeared around the same time as the Jokinen re-acquisition fiasco. Coincidence? Perhaps. Could it be that our local champion has hung them up, satisfied that his job is done?. Is he retiring from the Sports Terrorist biz? Has he just had enough of leading the charge for what's right? Or is he just taking a breather, waiting for a miss-step by management to arise and strike again? Shocked We can only watch and wait.

********************************
The lack of any action by Satchel has made our Flames insider HWCNBN somewhat redundant as he was brought back on staff for his knowledge about him. That has made getting inside info on what the Flames and what management are up to extremely difficult. He is trying to get some word on the closed door meetings about injured players and who gets sent down, but they are being held in utmost secrecy.

So we have had to branch out in our coverage of what's going on elsewhere in the hockey world.
********************************
HWCNBN attempted to interview the new Coyotes owners (who are from Calgary) while the Flames were in Phoenix, but they were all out of town. It eems they were in Vegas touring a new structure under construction next to a large casino.

The image tags need to be all lowercase to work.

With regards to the small font size I really don't know how that would happen on copy and paste unless you pressed some of the formatting buttons at some point during your post.

I typed some text, hit return and pasted it and see that an extra line does get added. But that shouldn't affect font size.

Addendum - I tried 3 times to get a pic to display, sure I was mis-typing or something, even switched pics.

I used that same image, typing img manually in my last post in the Flames forum, no problem.

But any attempt to modify text etc in your editor causes it to do exotic and unpredictable things, in my experience.

My solution for now is to get it as right as possible in my WP and then post hoping for the best.

There seems to be a problem with the quote feature.

Prior to the update, if I wished to quote a post by someone who had quoted another post, I had the ability to edit out the post that he quoted.

I don't appear able to do this now. This means that I have no choice but to not only quote his post, but anything he quoted as well.

Not sure that's going to be a good thing, I hate endless quotes...

Just tried this and removed a few words.

The post editor works the same for me as it did with the previous software version too. Hit the 'quote' button, then click 'quote posts now' from the reply box below and you can cut any text you don't want to quote.

That's the Quick Reply method. The full post editor lets you do the same thing too only the quoted text is properly formatted already and looks prettier.

The problem is that there is an inability to edit out a post that was quoted within the post you're quoting.

At least I haven't been able to figure out how. To try this, you must quote a post that has another post quoted within it.

It works 'stoner - you just have to delete the right places.  The quick reply is a bit easier to see because it shows you the tags, but in the full editor, you have to delete starting from immediately after the name of the poster you are trying to quote.

ie, above - I quoted your post that had to other quotes embedded in it.  Put the cursor right after Caper's name, then delete everything to the end of your original post.

Edited a post from last night I hit quick edit and instead of my post appearing in the message there was the word object only.

Full edit seems ok, considering how quick things load here not sure why we have that option.

Trying to decide whats scarier Flames borg or Shady's cat. Silly

Some pretty significant issue when using copy/paste as well, Shady. Changes the formatting and font and font size when copying from one post into another..

Yeah, saw that too stoner.... it's a pain, but if you highlight the whole thing, and click the 'remove formatting' button, it seems to go back to normal. Then you can re-add any formatting that you wanted.

Kind of cumbersome, but it works for now.
