Laine has a hat trick already(his 2nd of the year) It's only the 2nd period!

Was at the game last night.  Great chemistry between him Schieffle and Ehlers.

The media seem to be neglecting to mention that Ehlers is also on that line. He's what completes it, and gives it much of it's speed.

There was a shot in the second period, seemed to come out of nowhere, Laine nearly took Niemi's head off with it. It was one of those shots that I gasped out loud "How did he do that???"
Fun fact, I said it to Milt Stegall who was sitting in the loge seating.

I did a quick comparison, Matthews is leading in a couple categories.

1 - Shots (10 more)
2 - Assists (1 more)
3 - Faceoffs won (120 more)
4 - Missed Shots (4 more)
5 - Takeaways (4 more)
6 - Blocked Shots  (1 more)

I will take goals over everyone of those categories; even all added together. A great goal scorer is a very rare and valuable commodity.

(psst... I was joking, why else would I include "missed shots")

I was wondering why the Jets fan was countering Laine.

I wish Edmonton had an opportunity to draft him. I would have taken him over Matthews.

I'm more Jets fan than not, but I'm not a Jets fan.

I see a lot of Jets games though, and I hate the Leafs, hence my position.

To be fair, and realistic, Matthews is what the Leafs needed, Laine is what the Jets needed. Win/Win really for both teams.

Hope the kids okay. Got leveled by McCabe on an open ice hit and had to leave the game.  Didn't look good.

That was a big hit...But was it dirty? Doesn't look like it to me.

It was kind of like the Chara/ Kessel hit from years ago. Just a wall.

Hope the kid is okay...Bell looks rung.

I sure hope the kid is OK after this and that he learns to keep his head up !! He's great to watch, but he's got to protect himself at all times.

There are too many slugs in the NHL looking for their opportunity to "shine". One of the many reasons that 30 teams in the league is too many.
