San Jose @ Oil GDT

Few shakeups, which are good for sure.

Crappy loss the other night, and I would hope we come out on fire.

1st line is flying and producing, but to beat this team tonight Eberle, and and Nugent Hopkins line must chip in.

Not sure if they do

I think we are in tough tonight and lose a close one

San Jose 3 Oil 2

I agree the 2nd line MUST produce offense. Who is the backup tonight?

Let's go Oilers!

The Nuge line wasn't very good against the Sens but the Pouliot, Drake, Eberle line actually had a nice game - just couldn't cash - nice offensive zone work though.

It will take a solid effort from all 4 lines to win tonight. Not putting all my eggs in the 2nd line production basket.

If the 3rd and 4th can chip in, we can still win but all lines have to be defensively responsible if we want to get a win.

I wonder if they will start Gus tonight - give him a chance to redeem himself.

Vlasic is out today.

Hopefully the Oilers can capitalize.

That is a big loss for the Sharks - he plays some solid solid minutes.

LOL.  I'm gonna go out on a limb and say probably not.

Big 6 games home stand.  I'm hoping for at least 9 out of a possible 12 points.  Time to start dominating at home.

You nailed it - this team needs to start being a dominating team at home. For some reason we've played better on the road so far. McDavid has materially more points on the road than at home.

Its great to be a strong road team but, for continued success, I think its more important to be a strong home team.

Gus cleared waivers - what a shocker!

They have 30 days to assign him - I expect LB to be recalled but Gus to be the back-up for tonight.

As per Jack Michaels:

Looks like Eberle moved to 2nd line w/Lucic & RNH. Kassian w/Caggiula and Pouliot.

As Per Stauffer (People going to be pissed that Slepy isn't playing):

Maroon-McDavid-Draisaitl
Lucic-RNH-Eberle
Pouliot-Caggiula-Kassian
Hendricks-Letestu-Lander
Slepyshev is the extra

I would have liked to see Hendricks out and Shleppy in tonight.  2 good games by him but he seems to slow down when playing too many in a row.

I'm really looking for the 2nd line to get on the scoreboard tonight - come on guys, we need you.

Nuge had an awful game against OTT.

How can you waive a player, but he's still dressing for the game?

Am I missing something?

They waived their rights to his SPC, but no takers.  Still obligated to be a party to the contract which allows them to have him in the organization.

Putting a guy on waivers and assigning him to the minors are two separate transactions.

So Gustavsson is still the back up? That didn't accomplish much did it?

Putting him on waivers is just a pre-condition to sending him to the AHL.

Now that he's cleared, they have 30 days to re-assign him if they wish.

He is still on the roster.

He will be re-assigned after tonight's game and LB officially recalled.

Yes, it did - there is a process.

They couldn't add LB to the NHL roster until they assign Gus to the AHL - they can't assign Gus to the AHL until he clears waivers. He's now cleared but there isn't time to get LB here for the game.

I assume you want a back-up goalie available for tonight?
