Scientists looked at the levels of bacteria lurking in 18 men’s facial hair and 30 dogs from different breeds. ‘The researchers found a significantly higher bacterial load in specimens taken from the men’s beards compared with the dogs’ fur,’ Professor Andreas Gutzeit, of Switzerland’s Hirslanden Clinic, said.

Back in a minute...I'm going for a shave.  Grin
I was warned about the dangers of getting old, but I did it anyways.

Hmmm, and I just started growing a beard again. I'm about 3 - 4 weeks into it

With the amount of shit you talk, I don't think the beard will have an effect.

This is just another reason why the clean shaven look is the way to go!

There seems to be a trend towards the lumberjack style of beards over the last while and to me they always come off a scraggly and unkempt.

I've grown my beard for 6 months and keep it groomed...this thread has ignited my germaphobia..

Then again I'm fine with my dog licking me and don't bother washing my hands.

All the germs on my beard came from my girlfriend

My wife is constantly pointing out food in my beard - I must be full of germs. With that said, aside from addiction issues, I haven't been sicker than a light cold in almost 20 years. Germs - no big deal - germs everywhere.

Isn't that the reason we grow beards?  It's like walking around with Hepa-like filtration.

On a side note, a beard needs to be accompanied by a killer stache. If not, it's incomplete and just an accessory
