New feature: embedding tweets now supported
#1
Lightbulb
On the suggestion of Bure, I've introduced a feature that allows you to embed tweets into posts here.

1. Find a tweet and click on the date/time to get the tweet's full URL. IE. Goto https://twitter.com/RATWhockey and click on "Oct 8" from the top tweet.

2. Copy the URL - https://twitter.com/RATWhockey/status/51...6502016001

3. Paste it into a new post between an opening and closing tweet tag:

Code:
[tweet]https://twitter.com/RATWhockey/status/519982676502016001[/tweet]

Voila.

* if using quick reply or quick edit you'll need to refresh the page to see the tweet. If using the full post editor it will show up immediately.

** Please remember that the site rules also apply to the tweet content

Nope, I've embedded a couple tweets tonight with no problem. What's happening when you try?

That's happening because you've added another bbcode tag that's breaking the code:

Code:
[tweet][color=#14171a]https://twitter.com/EWErickson/status/952569551450976257[/tweet][/color]

Take out the color tags and it'll work.

Hm. I'm still seeing this:

Not the color part....what would be doing that?

The color tag is actually still being added, which is the problem. Here is the code behind your last post:

Code:
Hm. I'm still seeing this:
[tweet][color=#14171a]https://twitter.com/EWErickson/status/952569551450976257[/tweet][/color]

[color=#14171a]Not the color part....what would be doing that? [/color]

I'm a bit stumped. Is there maybe a keyboard shortcut that's triggering the color bbcode? If you just copy the Twitter URL and ctrl-v that into a post box here, it shouldn't be adding any formatting.

There is also "paste without formatting" command which you could try instead of the normal paste command.

Mac: command-shift-v
Windows: ctrl-shift-v
