Looks like Stackhouse going as assistant in Utah, so scratch him off the list of possible replacements.

That's too bad - he was an intriguing candidate.

Sounds like it's going to be Nick Nurse according to Wojnarowski.

I have a hard time imaging him doing any better with this roster then Casey did, but they might have the added benefit of not having LeBron in the East next year.

Nurse ran the offence last year, and it completely collapsed in the playoffs. Personally, I think bringing in an outside voice, and someone who might be able to provide a different perspective after coaching in different systems, like say Popovich’s, might have been the way to go. Masai went the safe route. Anyway, I don’t think it’s a bad choice - it’s not like there was much on the market. Casey was probably the best coach available lol.

Casey was not the issue in Toronto. They just used him as a scapegoat. And it doesn't really matter how great Nurse is, it doesn't matter if he's the next Phil Jackson. He's not winning anything with this roster.

What this team needs is major roster changes. Lowry and DeRozan are two of the most overrated players in basketball. You're not winning anything if they are your 2 best players.

winning 59 games, and top seed in the East is pretty good.

And got swept by a one man team in the 2nd round.

The 5th seed Pacers and the Irving and Hayward-less Celtics gave the Cavs more of a challenge than the 59 win team.

If you keep Nurse, then they need to make some significant roster changes. That would be true no matter who they hired, but you aren't getting a vastly different change in perspective with one of Casey's assistants.

Sorry, I was wrong. He's going to Memphis, not Utah

it was a sweep...but the margin of victory was very narrow.  Only one game they were really outplayed.

nature of sports...play again, can't say it would be the same result.

Did you watched the same series that i did? lol

The way the Raptors got swept was EXACTLY how the Cavs got swept in the Finals.

Game 1 - The Raptors choked away game 1 just like JR Smith choked away game 1 in the Finals.

Game 2 - The Raptors got blown out just like the Cavs got blown out in the Finals.

Game 3 - LeBron hits a buzzer beater to beat the Raptors. Kevin Durant hits a dagger 3 to beat the Cavs.

Game 4 - Was exactly like game 2. Both teams got blown out.

You posted this in the NBA forum after the Cavs got swept:

Sweeeeeeeep!

In embarassing fashion.

But you think the Cavs/Raptors series was close? C'mon man lol.

That series wasn't that far off from being 2-2 after 4. Game 1 went to OT after the Raps led 98% of the game. The first time the Cavs led the entire game, was in fact in OT.

Game 3 LeBron hits a buzzer beater. On a shot that judging by his body language on his release, never should've went in lol.

It is disappointing when the series before and after go to 7 playing supposedly lesser teams though. The Raptors just didn't get the bounces in there series, and let's not even talk about the huge margin in fouls between the teams.
