Round 1: Raptors vs Wizards Thread
#1
Round one starts today at 5:30.

Washington has been pretty weak over the last couple months, but they've also been without some key players, and they are relatively healthy now. They're probably equally as talented as Toronto is, so if the Wizards can sort things out, they are going to be a dangerous opponent for Toronto.

On the other hand, Toronto has a very deep bench, and it's something Washington will have difficulty contending with.

Toronto is my pick, but this has the potential to be a very entertaining series.

April/May is an awesome time for sports fans.

Constant playoff basketball/hockey and baseball.

Then you get some other important sporting events like The Masters, French Open, and I'm sure missing some.

With Van Vleet out, will be interesting to see who steps up.

I see this series going 6.

I expect that this series will be a warm-up for the Raps.

Well the Raptors looked like they were clearly the better team early on, but two big runs by the Wizards helped Washington get back into it. The Raptors gave up some pretty easy buckets.

On the other hand, it's a good sign when your two best players combine for 7 points on 2/8 shooting and you're only trailing by 4 at halftime. Anunoby and Ibaka had very strong halves for Toronto.

DeRozan and Lowry with 7 pts combined in 1st half.  These 2 get on my damn nerves come playoff time.

They seemed to pick it up in the fourth when they needed to. Hard to imagine there aren't some butterflies for game on of the playoffs.

Fortunate win by the Raptors. Need to play much better moving forward.

17 turnovers, fortunate to shoot over 53% from 3, OG outscored Lowry, with Ibaka and Wright being 1-2 in scoring. That is not a recipe to win very often.

Wasn't pretty but they found their game in the 2nd half and played some great team defence in the fourth to extend the lead to double digits and secure the win.
