Well the Dutch have that slightest of tiebreakers over us, so we're gonna have to beat them this week to top the group. A draw won't be enough.

So looking far ahead, if we can only manage a draw or worse it's likely we would face Sweden in the first KO game (unless the Swedes beat the USA this week, meaning we'd play the USA). Following that, we would play Germany, assuming they beat one of the 3rd place teams. We would then likely play either the Netherlands, Brazil, or Australia. Next match would the final.

If we beat the Dutch, our road is looking more like: England/Japan, Brazil/Australia, Germany, and then the final.

Unless the USA blow it against Sweden, we are going to be fortunate in that we can't face the USA or France until the Final. Not to say the competition won't be tough still, but those are probably the two toughest teams.

Wow, drama early on in the Dutch-Canada game. Beckie is fouled in the box in the first minute, with the referee calling a penalty, but video review said it was outside the box, so no penalty kick and no goal for Canada.

Day off for me, and I stayed in bed until 8am, which is unprecedented.  Feeling great, and now the Dutch against the Canadians on tv.

Oh, happy Day!

VAR showing it's value there. It was a soft, soft penalty award.

The Dutch really piling on the pressure now. Probably should have at least one goal.

FYI, the winner will play Japan and the loser likely Sweden. Both will be tough opponents.

Please explain the value of Schmidt?

I've often wondered that myself.

Really well worked free kick by the Dutch.  That's allot of really big dutchness attacking that cross...and a perfect delivery.

The Dutch are just better. Far better attacking options on the wing and more creativity in the midfield. They're also not giving Canada any time to breathe, closing in on them the second they touch the ball.
