Looks like Shapo has won his first match at Indian Wells and FAA beat Pospisil in the first round. Now will be FAA vs Milos. Milos hasn't been great lately, this could be the torch being passed
A pretty disappointing second match from Shapovalov against Cuevas. His backhand just was not working and there were too many unforced errors.

Looking forward to Raonic-FAA tonight. I'll be cheering for Felix, but I have a hard time seeing him being able to handle Milos' serve.
Raonic has gotten pretty lucky as he hasn’t played particularly well but is now into the QFs with a really good shot at the SFs.

It’s hard to bet against a Federer Del Potro final though
Raonic in the SF's against Del Potro this afternoon.

Federer and Coric in the 3rd set of there match right now.
Raonic defeated in straight sets...no real fight.
Magnificent final between Federer and Del Po. Well fought on both sides, lots of drama, with Del Po being the deserved victor.

Nice to see him add a 1000 title to his trophy case
Miami Open is starting this week...

FAA lost in the first round of qualifiers, along with Polansky and Peliwo.

Raonic, Shap, and Pospisil are all in though. Hopefully we can get a good run from one of them into the second week.
All 3 advance to the 3rd round in Miami.

20th seed Raonic is playing 13th seed Schwartzmann

Pospisil is playing 2nd seed Cilic

Shap will play the winner of 11th seed Querrey and Albot.
Pospisil loses a really tight one to Cilic, but he's made some serious strides this week. He played some really effective defensive tennis against one of the best players in the world, so I'm hoping he can continue that and maybe make a push for a top 50 spot by season's end.
Big win for Shapovalov! Beat Querrey in 3 sets.

He's through to the next round and I think has a good shot against either Coric/Sock.
Raonic beats Chardy and is through to the QFs against Del Potro, who he just lost to a couple weeks ago at Indian Wells.

Milos has gotten pretty lucky with his opponents, as he hasn't had to play anyone too difficult (other then Del Potro) to make it pretty deep at the last two tournaments. He's also had some really bad luck lately, so I won't hold it against him.

Shapovalov is playing Coric right now, who has been on fire this year. This will be a difficult match for Shap, but he can with this.
Shap loses in 3 sets, including a 1st set tiebreaker. Close match.
It was a tough loss for Shapovalov. He double faulted three times in the deciding game in which he was broken. A terrible way to lose after such a well played match.

Coric has been really solid this year, playing some really effective defensive tennis. After lots of hype, it's looking like this may be the year he takes some strides forward.

The future of tennis is in a good place, with Zverev, Chung, Coric, Shapovalov, Tiafoe, and hopefully FAA all looking to improve and make a dent this year (Zverev already did that last year).
Raonic loses to Del Potro in the QF's, 3rd set tiebreaker. Very close match in a tough environment for Raonic, Latin community very pro Del Po.

Raonic had his opportunity in the 3rd, Up love-30 with Del Po serving at 5-5. Don't think he even kept a ball between the lines the next 4 points though.

Costly double faults early in both tiebreakers too. 2nd set he lost in a tiebreaker as well.
Yeah that’s really too bad for Raonic. This was a really huge opportunity to win his first Masters title.

There were some really positive signs though. He was going shot for shot with one of the best players in the world. Too bad we have the clay season approaching.
Shapovalov took out Raonic today in Madrid.

Some encouraging signs for Milos though as he looked pretty good on his worst surface, even beating Dimitrov. Will likely never get to the top 3 or 4 (I forget if he was 3rd or 4th career best) but I wouldn't rule out top 10.

Shapovalov hit some pretty fantastic shots though and has a QF match with Edmund tomorrow. He's played him quite a few times in the last year so he's pretty familiar with him, but Denis doesn't have much experience on clay. Obviously this is some more encouraging news for Canadian tennis fans.
A strong win over Edmund is gonna push Shap through to the SFs and likely give him a top 32 seed at the French
A rematch with Zverev. He lost to him at the Rogers Cup SFs last year. Shap is a big underdog, so a victory would be another big statement win. It would also put him in 22nd, making him the highest ranked Canadian
Highest ranked Canadian, would make him the youngest Madrid finalist ever, and the worst ranked Madrid finalist ever.

With the way Thiem has been playing this week, I don't know if either one of them will win the title though.
Shap gets destroyed.
