I wanted to say a quick thank you to you guys for not being giant dicks.

Of any of the fans in England, you'd be in your right to post a litany of circle jerking subjects on how great Liverpool are doing.  Honestly, the team looks unbelievable at the moment.  You guys should wonder off with the title.  I wouldn't be shocked if you smash City 4-0 tomorrow.  City look very weak at the back rn.

Anyway...kudos to you lot....If you win the league (when you win it), feel free to make as many self aggrandizing posts you want to.
i think we might be all a little wary of getting ahead of ourselves. Firstly because we have been in this spot before and better teams have forged ahead of us to take it. In 2009, United's team was very good, and fully deserved the win. In 2014, that City team put on an amazing unbeaten run that included 7 straight wins to finish the season, and take the pot.

The narrative has been that Liverpool bottled it those seasons, but the stats don't bear that out, in both seasons the average points pergame in the last ten games was higher than the average for the season, but United and City just blew everyone away to win it.

I don't think Liverpool will bottle it this season, but I know what City are capable of, so we could have an amazing second half to the season and still not win it.

As for the football, it might sound churlish, but I actually enjoyed the style last season a bit more than this, but obviously I prefer the results this year!
I know what you mean. But I think this season is the price you pay for last season. That swashbuckling style gets figured out real quick I think.

You guys got that "title winning" result at the weekend though. One of those games destined for a draw and a penalty decides it. We had many of those during our successful years.
Even with City's little blip, I still feel like this is a very, very tough title to win.
Liverpool still have games away to Everton and United.
They still have to play at home against Chelsea and Tottenham.

City might simply not lose another game this season. The threshold between champs and not champs is so damn tight, that it seems impossible.

Liverpool have had quite a bit of luck to be where they are at this point of the season too....
The cross bar against Everton, the penalty miss by Mahrez.... Things could be very different.

I still look at progress as finishing 2nd or 3rd, and getting past Bayern in the next stage.
